Amelia Powell and Annika Brooks have been playing traditional music together since they met at a music festival nearly 10 years ago. They formed their Old Time and Acoustic Folk duo, There She Goes, in 2022 when Annika moved to Amelia’s home state of Louisiana. Annika and Amelia grew up going to Old Time and Cajun music festivals and became fast friends over their shared love of music and the community it brings them.

Amelia comes from a deep rooted Cajun background in Southwest Louisiana. She has played locally and internationally in many bands and recorded on several albums including those of her band Amis Du Teche, Rhiannon Giddens, and with her father and mother, Dirk Powell and Christine Balfa. She has a rich musical background on both sides of her family, which can be heard in her powerful voice and unique guitar style.

Annika grew up in the Old Time community in the Northwest, and has lived and played music all over the country while attending college for environmental science. Her love of the rich music community she has been apart of has shaped who she is as a musician and as a person, and her love of music and life brings joy all who hear her play.
