Brahman Blues is the band that emerged when Dirk Powell on guitar and piano, Corey Ledet on accordion and Grant Dermody on harmonica and vocals, got together at a recording session for Grant’s last album, My Dony. The three musicians, playing together for the first time, found an amazing amount of common ground and the deep, raw, and powerful Blues, Funk, Rock, and Zydeco that emerged got their attention and made them want to do more.

Tonight they’re joined by Lee Allen Zeno on bass and Gerard St. Julien on drums and the five of them are fresh off of another three days of recording for Grant’s newest record. Joining them as a very special guest artist tonight is Chris Stafford on piano and guitar.

Expect dance music: deep Blues, and Funk with some Gospel and Zydeco. Expect Grant, Dirk, Corey and Chris to shred, and Lee and Gerard to lay down grooves that don’t get any more solid. Expect all of us, and all of you, to have a blast on a beautiful night at the Hideaway.
