Amis du Teche

Amis du Teche is the name of this this young, lively Cajun Band. The band’s name was derived simply because they all grew up along Bayou Teche in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, where they were influenced by the traditional Cajun sounds and French language of long ago. Adeline Miller plays fiddle and Amelia Powell plays guitar with beautiful harmony’s while Robert Miller brings rhythm with his upright bass. Adeline and Robert have performed together as far as Maine, Washington, and Nova Scotia while Adeline attended Sainte Anne University French Immersion Program. Amelia has traveled internationally with her Father playing music for years; and is the granddaughter of the late Cajun fiddler Dewey Balfa of the Balfa Brothers band. Amis du Teche has recently recorded the music for the Louisiana Public Broadcasting documentary titled, "In the Blind." Last fall they were invited to perform with Amelia’s Mother, Christine Balfa, during the opening performance of Festival Acadian et Creole by Bonsoir Cantin (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnGzxCLCv80 ). They were recently featured on KLFY’s Acadiana music spotlight…https://www.klfy.com/.../acadiana-local-music-spotlight.../
